i'm not really a country music fanatic, but try to work on speaking/singing clearer...it could be the equipment you're using, but that can be easily fixed...
it sounds like you're recording you're accoustics and your vocals at the same time with one mic...which also hinders your quality.
how about making those few steps into the next room, which is your brothers...i believe he has a nicer set-up, plus better recording and mixing equipment...plus i soundengineer that's experienced as him can help you greatly...
that's the things i think you could improve and how you can improve the problems...
