Rock n Roll

Taking their cue from many legendary bands of the past and present, BlameThrower, has truly forged a sound all their own. Straight-ahead, high volume, no-holds barred, goodtime Rock-N-Roll with a healthy dose of punk, soul, and blues. Like the Ramones playing Aerosmith songs with an AC/DC mindset and Detroit approach. You know, late '70's and early '80's Rock-N-Roll. Not only will their music satisfy even the most discerning rocker, but the casual listener will be found tapping their feet and shaking up a little action as well. Each member of the act brings something a little different to the band: Justins style in the Tao of Ace Frehely and Slash (with just a touch of shred); Nicks style ranges from melodic Joe Perry type licks to the artful noise of Johnny Thunders; Garys pounding, driving, thunderous bass; Johnnys swinging/punchy/rock drums; and Don, the undisputed ringmaster/front man. An unpredictable and dangerous entertainer whose onstage performance is equal parts blatant sexuality and epileptic fit; Someone whod give Iggy, Mick, Stiv and David Lee all a run for their money.
Band/artist history
Don, Nick and Justin began BlameThrower in August of 2001. Bassist Gary Ando replaced original bass player Lawrence DeLuca in May of 2002. Johnny Vee is the bands fifth drummer, who most recently joined in July 2003. If history has taught the band anything, its that a revolving line-up is a rock-n-roll requirement. BlameThrower made their live debut in March 2002 at the Mid-By-Midwest music showcase and spent the remainder of the next year playing anywhere they could gain some exposure. All the hard work culminated with a slot at the Hamtramck Blowout, a music showcase put together by the Detroit weekly entertainment paper, the Metro Times. Brian Smith (music editor of the Metro Times) was overheard saying, The performance blew the doors off the place BlameThrower has quickly earned the reputation as being one of Detroits most energetic live acts. The bands music and live set have helped earn them respect from peers in other Detroit based bands such as thee Trash Brats, the Paybacks, Five Horse Johnson, the Go, the Sights, the Lanternjack, the Lovemasters, the Kingsnakes, Easy Action, Chrome Flies, the Electric Six, the legendary Mitch Ryder and Scott Morgan as well as national acts such as the BellRays, Nashville Pussy, the Streetwalkin Cheetahs, and the Hydromatics to name but a few.
