Band/artist history
Learning that he loved music very early in his life, Vert was exposed to mainly 'roots' music such as bluegrass ( The Carter Family, Hank Snow ) and the classic country artists ( Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins ). Though leading a normal childhood and adolescence, Vert frequently felt like he didn't fit in and often put his thoughts on paper. With the later influences of rock, pop, everything else that the ear can absorb and a love of poetry acquired in High School, he began writing lyrics. His songs are reflective and often feature common topics presented in uncommon fashion which are received as fresh-sounding by listeners. The wording is thought-provoking and interesting, often drawing the listener inside the song and letting them depart with a feeling of experience.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
In a club where I had never performed before, I sang a tribute (acapella) to a late singer who I very much admired...you could have heard a pin drop in between lines and during the pause after I finished and the applause started.
