Band/artist history
The Change- I’m not the average doe boy and I’m damn proud of it. Not knocking the ones that get it in but i’m the only one out the clique that the big homie’s didn’t want to hustle. “Nah Peals you got something better in store”. Born and raised on Detroit’s Lower Eastside where drugs easily sold themselves and pistols often changed a person’s opinion and or decisions, I tried the legitimate approach. I had my first job when I was 13 years old cleaning tires and shoveling feces from the watchdogs. In Middle School, my Library teacher, Ms. Moore told me writing was my claim to fame. I was thinking if I was going to hustle I would still need a legitimate alibi. Four years and a hundred thousand bars later, I tried my luck. I had to be smart because in the past I had been shot in the leg over some shoes and a coat at my grandmother’s house. I was only 9 years old (a robbery gone wrong). I remember wanting to retaliate but when doctors said I may not walk again my motive turned to motivation. Trouble would soon find Nitty again when he was confronted over turf, ambushed and left with a stab wound to the chest. After that, the hood went crazy with retaliation even without me giving the go. All while recovering, I just remember memorizing music so much, my homie T-Dog said one day, “Damn Tye you always rapping other people’s music, create your own”. Then came the name Tye-Nitty from my childhood barber, Tommy Naturals. Next came the knock at the door from Aaron Wright, a previous partner of Taj Records. “Nitty I been listening to this cd and I cant cut it off, lets get this music popping”! Taj Records was formed and Tye Nitty was born.Contact
