Dem Boyz A.K.A. GMB, natives of Jackson Mississippi, may not be known across the map, or even across the state, but when people hear their unique sound, and the energy that they can bring to a song or even a stage, they have no choice but to want more! Family for life, but realizing their talents in music in 2003, Brandon Howard (D. Black) and Nicholas Ratliff (La Roc) found a niche in something they both loved, MUSIC. Releasing their first Mixtape in 2006, they received a great response from the student body at Murrah and surrounding areas, and they wanted more! Late 2007, the long awaited Mixtape Vol. 2 entitled, "Go Live", introduced their original format of a mixtape in radio broadcasting style. Along with street anthems like, "Already Know" "4 My Hometown" and "Get Ya Weight Up" they also introduced their slower side by making a memorable stand with R&B songs like "Make Ya Feel Good" feat. Tabitha Taylor, and "What It Do". With promotional shows lined up with Made Famous Inc and doing shows around Jackson, determination is their tool of success. "The difference between the artists that are in the spotlight now and us is the fact that we won't break!" said D. Black. "Music should be done for more than money, and your name in bright lights, it should be done for love. The love of what you do." La Roc added, "I mean we can tell you all day how good WE think we are, but if you don't feel the same when you hear us then it's useless. Then all we can do is make music and P.U.S.H! Pray until something happens!"
