2.0K plays
10 years later, and I'm (still) just some guy.
Band/artist history
Been playing since I was 12. Guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, keyboards, drums, pedal steel, synths, etc. Been in the (local) paper a few times, some radio play, TV appearance. Doing well I guess. It is what it is.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I used to play live fairly frequently. I co-founded a music group (for whom I was lead guitarist). We were primarily active from 1991-2008, but since my wife and I relocated here to Florida (various reasons -- not worth going into here), I haven't really wanted to get back into doing that. I "still" play (somewhat). Haven't done any recording for around a year or so. As far as whether I liked performing live? At the time -- occasionally. Not as much as you'd think (which surprised even me). Special moments? I developed what were (at the time) fairly close friendships with the guys in the band, although we have since lost touch for various reasons, mostly having to do with the fact that I now live several states away).
Your musical influences
Beck, Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe, Newgrass Revival, Yanni, Mantovani Orchesra, Tony Rice, 2xl, The "terminator" movies, Shari Lewis & Lambchop (best Female ventriloquist ever!), James Brown, James taylor, Jim Croce, Jim Bowie, Jiminy Cricket, Wesley Willis, David Grisman, Bubble-wrap.
What equipment do you use?
Ovation 6-string accoustic-electric hybric guitar "First act" "student" guitar (primarily open tunings) -- SOLD a few years ago :( Resophonic "dobro" style guitar Hondo mandolin (extensively repaired) banjo (cheap, but good) Cardboard box and rubberbands
Anything else?
Maybe, maybe not. Could be, but then again probably not. Maybe?
