Major Snagg

In the early 1960s I listened to UK off-shore Pirate Radio... Radio 270, Radio Caroline North ... and Radio Luxenburg. This is a sound collage of Radio Caroline & Radio London 'jingles', around two great songs...Love Potion#9... and Crimson & Clover

This is more or less a straight ahead 'cover' of the great song by The Drifters, from the early 1960s. (1963?) I've played the melody on my Eastwood Astroluxe Cadet guitar, over a nice wobbly, tremolo rhythm guitar led backing track.

This is my cover of a great Ray Davis song by The Kinks. It's a song from their, 'The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society' album (LP). Their next album (LP) would be, 'Arthur (and the decline of the British Empire)

Not sure how to categorize this instrumental. After recording my instrumental version of Love Hurts...this seemed a nice one to follow-up with. The Kenyan Highlife feel of it was accidental.

Radio Commercial

A totally fab song to play...simple, but a very nice chord sequence E / A / F#m / etc... a #3 hit for Amen Corner in 1967. Lead singer was of course Andy Fairweather-Low (gosh, he looked very young on the video) mind you, I was only 15 at the time.

A great tune by Santo & Johnny, covered by The Shadows (and many more besides) . . . now add me to the long list !

Another Spencer Davis Group 'hit' from the mid 1960s. The time just prior to vocalist / instrumentalist Stevie Windwood leaving to form Traffic...who had Pop/Rock 'hits' of their own during the so called, Psychedelic years..

A catchy little guitar instrumental in the style of The Shadows. I'll have the same as Sean please :)

An instrumental 're-working' of this classic pop song from the very early 1960s. Of course, I've added a few Major Snagg twists to it. Yamaha Pacifica electric 12 string guitar for all the rhythm guitar tracks and a Telecaster for the lead.

My instrumental take on the classic Everly Brothers hit. I've given it a Major Snagg musical face-lift. Lots of nice guitar.

An instrumental version of a song that I remember well from my teenage years. The Spencer Davis Group had quite a few hit records in the mid 1960s

A slightly rare...or at least, a mostly forgotten tune by The Shadows from 1967. As you may or may not know...Hank is from Newcastle...almost next door to Sunderland. He had his tongue firmly in his cheek giving the tune this title. A great tune.
