Ish.Band/artist history
After several years of distillation, maturation and reformation, we have reached a point where the future is our oyster - the cream of older material has been recorded onto our initial demo, a genre-defining second demo is being written, the band is relocating to Manchester, a place with an infinitely more vibrant music scene than our current location, and more and more people are becoming aware of, and impressed by, our sonic output.Have you performed in front of an audience? We play around - a slew of new gigs once University is out of the way (mid - late september). It's always special to see a large pit break out in the middle of one of your songs - when we debuted "Architect" at the Royal, and reportedly left 'a carpet of broken glass', it was pretty special - our first proper moshpit, our first wildly successful gig with Tim, our first real success in terms of precision songwriting (I want a riff that has *this* effect on people *here*).
Your musical influences
We're each influenced by a lot of different stuff; drums wise, Danny loves the extreme work of such death metal bands as Nile, Decapitated, Deicide, etc, but tastefully applies these in equal measure as he does more restrained drumming, keeping music accessible where it should be, and ground shuddering where it should be. Guitar-wise, we took the basic Gothenburg formula and emphasised the twin melodies that bands such as God Forbid use so well, and then twisted it and twisted it until we found something more original than your run of the mill melodic death metal band, with a mix of groove, brutality and restraint. Finally, the vocals are an amalgamation of a plethora of different styles and influences; you'll hear the Pantera shout, the Nile gutteral, some Kings of Leon-ish stuff, and a whole range of other things which are (i'll be honest) an utter bastard to set up live.
