With a fusion of music coming from Europe, North America and Asia & having been compared to bands like A Perfect Circle, Breaking Benjamin and its likes, A Race Called Man plows through music boundaries and creates an atmosphere on music and reality. They raise the level of diversity that is synonymous where they are based (Los Angeles). This no-nonsense group of musicians tactfully flirts with different elements to inject in their intricate but radio-friendly songs.
Band/artist history
A Race Called Man is an assembly of four individuals with a passion for expressing random human emotions through their deep collection of aural sculptures. With James on drums, Laurent on guitars, Mark on bass and Brett on vocals, they release a sound from different combinations of influences, culture and perception. Knowing each other for several years now, as friends and fellow musicians, they decided to form a band in late 2003 that would project their visual similarities focusing on human spirituality, strength, weaknesses, temptation, discrimination, social belief, personal growth and various points that connects the cracks and divides the race that is rapidly growing in clusters. Referencing their work as timeless and emotionally bound, they mix heavy, diverse, powerful but easy to follow sounds with sensitive, honest lyrics and melodies. Their influences include Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones and its likes but they keep a sound that is truly their own creation.
