The Aphelion Aphrodites' music is a mix of Doom, Melodic & Gothic Metal...
Priscila (vocals) and Álvaro (solo guitar & backvocals) started the Aphelion Aphrodites on November 15th, 1997. Since then our music evolved a lot and many people went in and out of the band, mainly drummers. Sandra (bass) entered in 1999/2000 and we found our actual composition in 2000/2001 when Ricardo (drums) and Jorge (keys) "enlisted". Joel, our rhythm guitarist joined the band in October 2003, thus completing our alignment. We are still looking for a violin or cello player to make our sound grander!
We do play live wherever we can and whenever we can. Just invite us and we're there! We love playing live. Special moments... on our last gig when we played a very very new song and Priscila started singing in the wrong part... then she raised her arms and said "stop!stop!stop! again..." and turned to the crowd and said: "i'm sorry, i made a mistake, it happens to the best..." and everybody stared clapping and whistling and were cool with it...
We have a million musical influences. Although we play doom/melodic/gothic metal we are not ashamed to say we love all sorts of music, from pop to rock, heavy metal, blues, jazz and classical. Our most noticeable influences are: NIghtwish, The Gathering, Theatre of Tragedy, Therion, Metallica, and many many others we love and "drink from"...
Humm... can't think of anyhting else right now... except we have a faery as our band symbol - it's pretty cool and Priscila even tattooed it on her right lower leg :p
