Apes With Hobbies is the solo project of London-based composer and guitarist Jason Gorman. Jason started playing guitar in 1988 at the age of 17, and served his time as an axe-man in an eclectic range of college and local rock/metal bands. Self-taught in theory and technique, Jason’s interests progressed from playing to writing and producing. He began the Apes With Hobbies project in 2010 as a vehicle for showcasing new material to a growing online audience. He blends a wide mix of musical influences, ranging from Frank Zappa to Napalm Death, and from Erik Satie to Tangerine Dream, within a unique style that could only be described as “Apes With Hobbies”.
