The Cleveland-based band, Anthem, was formed in the summer of 2002 by members from prominent local bands from the Cleveland, OH area for the purpose of creating music. Above all, a one track mind toward sucess has been the long-lasting foundation which Anthem has stood upon. A good description for which this band stands for is found within this quote/motto: "Nothing but the best and no regrets"--Robert J. Putka.
These young men consist of Justin Stine, Geoff Funk, Joe Willis, and front man, Dan Christian.
Musically, Anthem's sound combines expressive lyrics soaring melodically over a solid rhythmic foundation, backed by driving guitar tones, creating an energy driven force that not only entertains the crowd, but will send a strong message as well.
The band's stage presence has been referred to as one to be reckoned with. Ultimately, the raw energy that Anthem produces stems from their passion for creating music. Entertaining the crowd with a powerful performance is always the goal at any Anthem show, regardless of the number of people in attendance. For example, if only fifteen people came out to see a show on a particular night, and one person became a fan, the show would then be considered an automatic success.
After only four months of existance, Anthem entered the recording studio to record their first demo. A short time later, the first three songs were recorded and released to their loyal fans. The demo served the purpose of expanding the local Anthem fan base successfully. Anthem has performed regularly throughout Ohio and its neighboring states.
As artists themselves, Anthem holds great respect and admiration for the men and women who made great sacrifices to not only dedicate their lives to music, but to ultimately make an impact on the world. Without their courage and strength, the path for new artists to arise would not exist. A few of these artists/musicians include Billy Idol, Michael Jackson, John Coltrane, Led Zepplin, Rancid, The Beatles, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Green Day.Have you performed in front of an audience?We're from the Cleveland/Kent, OH area.
