Andrew James Fairfowl was born June 14th 1978 in Carrickfergus Hospital, Northern Ireland. He spent his childhood growing up in church singing in a church choir. He spent his teenage years drinking, taking drugs and rebelling against society. Musically at this time he was a DJ mixing records mainly at parties. Approaching his 20's he moved away from nightclubs and the use of E's trips and speed. Permanently smoking weed had made him become more of a recluse. This change resulted in him selling his decks and record collection, using the money he made for a mind blowing, drug fuelled holiday in Ibiza. His farewell to dance music. That Christmas his parents bought him an acoustic guitar, his torturing them to do so had paid off. The next couple of years were spent locked in his bedroom permanently stoned, playing guitar and listening to bands like The Verve. He woke up one day and decided a change was needed, so he booked a ticket to Tenerife and left to live abroad two days later, with only his guitar, a little cash and some clothes. Eleven months later Andrew returned home from Tenerife following the birth of his nephew, he returned home more addicted to drink and drugs than he was when he left. Now unemployed and dependant on substances to face reality, he quickly went down hill, until one day he tried to beat his brother to death in their mums kitchen. His brother fought him off with a hot Iron and called the police. Andrew, at rock bottom remembered his faith as a child, and cried out to God to save him from himself. God answered and when Andrew awoke the next day all his addictions were gone, (many people witnessed and have testified to this miracle). Throughout all this he continued to write music, he told me "I use my guitar to delve down inside myself and pull my emotions out, they arrive as songs, It feels great to get it out". Listening to Andrew's music you know he has been on an incredible journey, his music isn't gospel and it isn't secular. It is what it is - A man honestly laying bare his soul, his innermost thoughts and emotions. He writes what he feels and he doesn't hold back or tone it down, some people will relate to his music, others just won't get it.
