All of my songs and albums are now free to download. I started writing and recording music at the age of seventeen, when myself and my best friend Tony Green could barely play a note between us. We improved over the years, though, and after a long lay off I returned to making music in 2014.
I am very much back after a 20 year period, have a deformed left hand & severe nerve, tendon & muscle damage in right arm. I used all kinds of weird tunings.
Grouchy, aloof, ill tempered. Other than that, Im a bag of laffs.
There's solo acoustic, collaborations, band stuff, and random acts of electronica here. Each has its own flavour. Jonny Yen has been putting music into the world since the late '90s. The Jonny Yen collective is always me (Steve M.), along with other contributors. So far I've worked with my former bandmates 'Mojo' Hamilton (Bass), 'The Dingo' (Drums and Guitars) and DJ Long (Programming).
The Shallow Machine is a non-traditional band in the sense that it only exist in the studio. We are a group of musicians all in different bands. We come together in the studio for 'jam' sessions and sometimes we make something beautiful. this Album is the result. Some of us have to remain nameless to not violate current contractual obligations. But the music is always our gift to the world and NO corporation can stop the music! Enjoy
