Band/artist history
After desbanding my old band (HORA DO RUSH) an instrumental quartet, I search for other ways to play my music. The PC are on the early days and I bought a Voyetra board and start composing. 1996 was the year of my first solo album (ANGEL'S DREAM). With the years I change the main focus to orchestral works (in the first album there were a feel tracks like this).
The second album will be now presented by an actual orchestra. This is a great diference from the old band.
The third album (I'm composing it now) will follow the same path with the focus at The Rings' from The british writer Tolkien.
Another on? Yes!! My fourth album is already. It is the sound track from a play written by a brazillian friend and played around the country last year. I'm adapting two of the tracks to CD, but is everythink ready.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
My second album will soon be played by the "Petit Brancaleone Orkestra" a symphonic orchestra from Rio.
Your musical influences
My main influence was the prog scene, but to narrow any search, I could describe my work as mix: Mike Oldfields + Philip Glass + Jan Akkerman + Peter Gabriel.
What equipment do you use?
New and old synths: Alesis QS7.1, Yamaha Tx81z, Korg Wavestation SR e Z1, Roland SoundCanvas, GR50 and Juno Alpha 2.
GUITARS: Custom made electric-synth, ovation steel acoustic with synth pick-up, Yamaha nylon acoustic, 1956 DiGiorgio Acoustic Guitar, Yamaha 12 strings acoustic, aplause mandolin, Gianini portuguese guitar, 1970 DelVechio fretless bass, Washburn acoustic bass and custom made 6 strings fretless guitar.
WOODWINDS: recorders (soprano and contralto) pfifer, transversal flute, bamboo flutes and Xaphon bamboo.
PERCUSSION: anything that made a good noise!
Anything else?
I use the beatiful enviroment from Aquilante Digital Studios for recording and rehearsal. There is more at www.alexsaba.com/Aquilante.

Oi Alex
Escutei tuas músicas hoje e achei muito interessante. Sou guitarrista, tenho banda, mais gosto mesmo é de fazer as minhas próprias músicas instrumentais, tocando todos os instrumentos. Tem algumas no soundclick, se quizer conferir...
