The loud crack of a broken stick made his trembling hand crumple together like a leaf in the fire: and at the sound and the pain, scalding tears were driven into his eyes. -James Joyce, A Portrait of the Artist
Rich in lyrical complexities and stylish poetics, A Leaf in Fire pulls no punches in the fight against cliche'd rock. Embracing music as a method of storytelling through memorable riffs and rhymes, the Long Island quintet pursues catchiness without being conventional. With six original songs completed and possible tours in their future, A Leaf in Fire fans can expect shows to be full of the same energy and passion that the band puts into their writing. Expect songs to be imbued with musical intricacies, from the punchy bass riffs and powerful drum beats, to the uncompromising resonance of dual guitars. Compelling sounds and structures then lay the foundation for deeply thematic and often picturesque lyrics. Whether you have supported us from the beginning or youre listening for the first time, we thank you for your inspiration.

"Daydreams At Deadline"
Threw me off with the scream at the beginning. lol...
The story is pretty good. I've heard some similar ones in Hip Hop form so it's a bit different. But I got it.
I think the vocals were a bit stronger on this one. Definitely a deep track. The music was great. The ending was good. I'm not sure what else to say. I really liked it.
Keep doing what you do.
Just listened to "November Days", I was disappointed at first because you started off like Hawthorne Heights (although I like them). I didn't want to hear another band that sounded like someone else. But you finished out the song really well. and in your own fashion.
Same as my previous post, the vocals could be stronger. Maybe when your mixing you could put more bass onto it so it would have more depth. But this is only my opinion so if you think it's fine, than ignore my comment.
I thought this was stronger though, lyric-wise. I liked this song a lot better. I could definitely relate to this and I could see myself listening to this after a bad day.
Keep up the good work guys. I'll be looking forward to more uploads. Are you guys on myspace?
I gave "I'm Only Me" me quick listen. The music and lyrics are pretty nice. The vocals could be a bit stronger, not like screaming but a little more "umph". You know? otherwise I like the music.
And yeah my music is pretty old but check it out if you like hip hop.
