Joseph Kamaru macharia a benga musician from central Kenya, a leading Kikuyu musician who made his first breakthrough in 1967 with Celina. The height of his musical career was in the 70’s & 80’s. In the late 80's he was the first Kenyan artist to play at the Carnivore Restaurant, then only hosting foreign artists. According to Martin Dunford, the owner of the restaurant, Kamaru's vibrant performance opened doors for other Kenyan artist to perform at the venue.

These recordings represent the various musical endeavors that I've gone through since the 1970's to present day. Some are good quality and some not so great but are from old cassette recordings that i converted to mp3 and mp4 format to at least preserve them (for who i'm not sure)....anyway, at the heart of the matter, these are just honest recordings, my story is in a bit of each recording here. I was a member of NSAI and went to Nashville several times for training camps. I was a fiction/non-fiction writer before I became a songwriter.
