ABLICK was formed nearly four years ago, in the small town of Erlanger Kentucky when Collin and Eric decided to form the band. Over the years the lineup changed as members were gradually replaced by more devoted talent, or through tight friendships. Shortly into the process of finding the perfect musicians to collaborate with, they came upon Cory. An amazing bassist, a great songwriter and an all around kick ass person, Cory was a perfect fit. Junior year rolls around and Ablick competes in a Battle of the Bands near Cincinatti Ohio and takes first place. Shortly after, creative differences become evident between the current lineup and the bands drummer. And then comes Kent. Collin and Eric were sitting down for lunch at school when Kent walks up and says he wants to try out for Ablick, now keep in mind, Kent looks so much like an emo punk kid that it just doesnt seem like he'd fit in too well, but he's determined and finally gets a tryout for the band. He shows up and completely blows everyone away with his double bass kick and skin work. Simply amazing, at 16, this kid is incredible and is instantly added to the lineup, bringing out a huge part of the brutality and severity that is now Ablick. December of 2003, Ablick puts out their first CD, done in a friends basement. The guitars are recorded by mic'ing them in a bathtub, and the vocals are done with the singer, Scott standing alone in a closet. The CD is given out to a few friends, but Ablick's creative side came out and they ultimately reached the decision not to begin seeking a label. They wanted something more polished, heavier, tighter. Not to mention their vocalist would soon be joining the Armed Forces, and so Ablick went on the prowel for a new vocalist. And fate strikes. Kent heads to the mall early november with his girlfriend to buy a pair of shoes. He heads into Pac Sun and Linkin Park's Faint is playing in the background. As he's trying on his shoes, he hears someone singing the song on the radio and is completely amazed. An 18 year old cashier named Mike, is rocking out to the tune, singing it as he walks throughout the store. He's stopped by Kent who asks him if he's ever heard of ablick, which who the hell hasn't in Florence/Erlanger, they're badass! Of course he's heard of them. They start talking about bands and Kent finds out that Mike is in a band himself as a vocalist. They soon realize that they have the same passion for music, and the same inspriations. The same eagerness to play. Soon enough, there's talks of Mike trying out in the future, but he has something else in mind. He wanted to show what he was capable of then, and there. In the middle of the mall, right before Christmas, he starts screaming the bridge to Faint and immediately Kent is offering him the audition to join Ablick. A few days later Ablick holds the tryout. Ablick plays through their set first and Mike is completely blown away. They're amazing, pretty much everything he could ever ask for in a band. Then comes his turn. He's completely nervous and afraid that after Ablick kicking so much ass he'll let them down, but he's not just going to throw this opportunity away. Ablick wants a vocalist, then that's what they'll get. He puts on The Game by Disturbed and just starts screaming out these bone crushing brutal melodys. The band plays through their heaviest songs, and the lyrics come so easily as the song now titled Stealing Souls is born. It seems so heavy but so perfect at the same time... And Ablick finally has the lineup they've been looking for, for over 4 years. The CD is redone, the lyrics are rewritten, and the songs are rearranged. Be ready, because this band will be in your headphones soon, and they're going to fucking rip it up.Have you performed in front of an audience?Ablick has played live and won 2 battle of the bands, we look forward to playing around september/october. Hell yes we fuckin like playing for people... Special moments? Already covered I suppose.
