abeZilla is an ‘electronic’ music producer currently located in Hull, UK. He started producing music in the year 2000 with just the love of music to guide him. His early tunes were circulated through friends.
In the early years, he began carving a style of his own, blurring genre definitions, while attempting to keep it listenable, most of the time this worked.
In 2006, abeZilla passed the Creative Music Producer course run by Access to Music, which he took to increase his skills as a producer, and also to give him a much needed boost in confidence musically. While on the course, he fine tuned his style somewhat, emerging as a confident (and competent) Drum n Bass producer, verging into Dubstep, Electro, and Downtempo territories when it suited him.
In 2007, the album "Failsoft" was introduced, and a small ripple slowly started to spread out. With various tracks being given an airing at local music night "The Sesh", with no negative response, abeZilla decided to start cementing his style further in the niche he had carved for himself in the musical landscape of Hull.
"Failsoft" was followed by a slow trickle of free EPs (the SCAM cycle) which have seen abeZilla go from strength to strength, with "Covert Operation" being one of the local favourites.
abeZilla was determined to get a name for himself on not only the local demo circuit, but the live and global internet ones as well, and so got working in the studio to produce an album which could stand up for itself. All the while, abeZilla was getting his name (and music) about with the help of sites like MySpace, Facebook, Soundcloud and Reverbnation. It was through Reverbnation that a conncetion with DJ Anuxa was formed, which is definitely a turning point in the career of abeZilla.
On 22nd August 2009, DJ Anuxa aired a 12 minute mix on her radio show "The Grind", which went all over the world on the internet. Since then, some of his music has been played on BBC Radio, and more mixes have been played on The Grind since.
The global recession resulted in abeZilla gaining enough cash to buy a laptop and Launchpad controller, so he could perform his music live, and on 1st May 2010, rinsed out a set to a rapturous crowd at the Home Sweet Home night at The Lamp in Hull.
On 26th October and 2nd November 2010, abeZilla became the second ever act to play twice in 2 weeks at The Sesh, one of Hull's premier live music nights.
In early 2011 abeZilla will release his long awaited sixth album - but first "proper" release - "Gamblers Ruined My Life", an album which not only shows off abeZilla's genre bending to maximum effect, but also has the cohesion it needs to stay for repeated listens.

Could say I first got into music at an early age, but my first memory of making music was being forced to scrape the wooden fish in time to the piano at primary school. For sure, I've been INTO music from an early age, There was this tape my dad made for me when I was tiny. It had Donovan's LP "HMS DONOVAN" on it and a load of 1981/82 synth pop on (Howard Jones, Culture Club...).
During my early teens, I developed a keen interest in the new "Britpop" scene, but it was when I heard Jungle for the first time that I knew I'd found what I was looking for. It was around this time that I was left to use the computer in music lessons. I couldn't get to grips with it. Not being the most musical minded of people at the time, my compositions were far from good.
Roll forward to 2000. I got a new (at the time) PC, and a copy of MUSIC2000. I got into it quite quickly. Once I had exhausted all the samples, and imported some choice cuts of my own, I looked to improving myself further. After a few experiments and attempts, I have finally stabilised a studio setup in 2004.
Since then, I have been to college to fill in the gaps in my self taught knowledge, and been constantly producing tracks. Each track has got consistently better than the last one, as I have been using new techniques and improving my others.
With the release of SCAMCD02 in 2006, I have decided that now is the time to get 'serious' with the music. 'Failsoft' in 2007 was the pinnacle of my work at that time.
Musically, my own material swings between Drum n Bass, Electro, Dubstep, and pure electronic mayhem. Your best option is to listen to the tunes, and make up your own mind.
