Band/artist history
I started playing piano at 4 years old; switched to guitar at 10, and started in my first band around that time. Played at my 6th grade graduation. Had a band in Jr Highschool. Had another band in highschool, playing concerts. Worked in a music store, then taught guitar there, then went on to demo sessions, and then real recording sessions with many great professionals; (some listed above). Live I've played many shows, casuals, parties, bars, colleges, the Whisky, the Roxy, etc. I studied music most of my life; privately, in college, in music school and with seasoned professionals. I have been writng music and songs since I was 10. My first recording contract came from one of my student's father sending my tape to Warner Bros. Records, resulting in a small independant contract with ABA Enterprises. My second contract happend while I was playing in a band (Idle Hands), fronted by John Lyons, the bass player from Tommy Tu-tone. We were supposed to get signed by Atlantic Records, and at the same time I was offered a deal by Writers Quarters West which was owned by Stevie Wonder. I was given a contract to work as a writer and producer. Meanwhile, I was given another serious offer by Ivy Productions which seemed to have the most opportunity to advance my music career, and thus the deal I signed. The result has been that each of these successes have given important progress and experience which have prepaired me for where I now am; with a first rate catalogue of material, new masters recorded, and the ability to deliver it live with outstanding musicians.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes. I have played the last four years in the L.A. area. The musicians in my band all work with established professional artists. It is great to have them support me and my music. There is an improvised aspect to what we play that always makes it exciting for us and our fans.
Your musical influences
Jimi Hendrix; The Beatles; Led Zepplin; The Rolling Stones; Eric Clapton; Jimmy Page; Elmore James; Santana; Miles Davis; George Benson; U2; Sheryl Crow; Coldplay. (to name a few).
What equipment do you use?
The new songs were recorded digitally by Dave Jenkins (Tori Amos; Elton John; Metallica). We used some Neve mic pres, some rare German compressors and EQs (the type the Beatles used), a red Marshall amp from the guitar player from Heart, a Carvin Legacy amp from Steve Vai; Eventide 3000 Harmonizer, some old Fender Teles and P-Bass, a Jackson strat, an E-Bow, Line 6 Pod; a Randall Commander 100 watt amp that the guitar player from Van Morrison turned me on to; a Roland 3000 delay, a Digitec RP 100; DW drums played by Richie Onori (Richie Sambora; Joe Lynn Turner; Keith Emmerson). Dave played percussion.
Anything else?
Thank you to all the people who have helped me to advance with my music over the years; my friends, family, and fans. I very much appreciate and will always remember in my soul, all the good you have done for me. May each day be the best in life for us all so far! www.aaronwolfson.com www.aaronwolfson.net
