Bass of Doom Bass of Doom
Jaco's affectionate nick for his beloved Fender Jazz Bass gives this tribute to one of music's most prolific bassists its name.
Fly Shadowfax! Fly Shadowfax!
Tribute to a great band and Gandalf's wonder horse from LOTR!
The Rhodes Less Traveled The Rhodes Less Traveled
The latest Soundworld Jazz extravaganza based from an OASYS combination called eXtasy, with blasting horns, synth hooks and sound EFX galore and a honking guitar lead from the V-Synth GT.
Gandalf's Dream (unplugged) Gandalf's Dream (unplugged)
Other than a few pauses and a change at one point to an E6 chord instead of a D#, a stripped down classical guitar version of the dream.
Gandalf's Dream (dedicated to Nick Webb) Gandalf's Dream (dedicated to Nick Webb)
This one is affectionately dedicated to the late Nick Webb of Acoustic Alchemy. The English duo always loved playing at the Caravan Of Dreams in Forth Worth, Texas. Rest in peace sweet prince.
The Choices of Master Samwise The Choices of Master Samwise
The trusty and loyal Samwise Gamgee is faced with a real dilemma after rescuing poor mister Frodo from Shelob but losing him to the Orc's! A fitting cliffhanger to end "The Two Towers."
Merry and Pippin Merry and Pippin
Those two loveable pranksters are at it again...whether accidentally setting off Gandalf's cache of fireworks or marching headlong into Isengard with Treebeard, I tried to capture their mischief and adventurous spirit!
Fair Lady Goldberry Fair Lady Goldberry
Another inspired by LOTR. Goldberry is the wife of Tom. And Tom? Why, Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow; bright blue his jacket is, and his boots are yellow. One of my favourite chapters in the Fellowship.
Uruk-hai Uruk-hai
Version 2 with a synth bass added. While searching for an anvil sound, I found that "Orc Factory" effect on the Korg Wavestation. The name of that synth patch is called "Far From Earth." How appropriate! ;-)
The Gates of Mordor The Gates of Mordor
From the OASYS combi of the same name, an accidental stuck note on some KARMA scenes yielded a Led Zeppelin'esque drone that just fit the tune perfectly. That wail sound is supposed to be a dinosaur, but in my Imaginary World, it's a Nazgul!
Moon Rise Moon Rise
Catch the magnificent Moon as it rises to light the night sky and pull on the tides. And the crickets? They're lovin' it! Dedicated to the master of Ambient Soundworlds, Steve Roach.
Wings over Alaska Wings over Alaska
Three part tribute to keyboardist and electric violin master Eddie Jobson. This one was influenced by the UK and Zinc/Green Album era.
Idyll Idyll
Version 5 and I'm finally happy with it. Now I can get on with finishing Event Horizon.
Sands of Time (el Amarna) Sands of Time (el Amarna)
The enigmatic 18th Dynasty Pharoah Amenhotep IV changed religion, took the name of Ahkenaten, and moved the capital city from Thebes to Tell el Amarna with Queen Nefertiti. Oh, and he was also the father of a rather famous pharoah named Tutankhamun.
Joseph's Dream (Genesis 37) Joseph's Dream (Genesis 37)
In Genesis 37-45, Jacob's son Joseph, after coming to great power in Egypt, demonstrates a dazzling display of affection, forgiveness and mercy as he welcomes and cares for the very brothers who sold him into slavery.
Reach for the Sky Reach for the Sky
This one is affectionately dedicated to producer, songwriter and keyboard great George Duke who recently passed. His 1977 solo album "Reach For It" had a huge impact on my future musical directions. Rest in peace sweet prince.
Ancient Lives (Deir el Medina) Ancient Lives (Deir el Medina)
Celebrating the architects, engineers and craftsmen who erected the only one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World that still stands. The chambers inside still remain intact under all of that massive weight for over 4500 years...brilliant!
Cafe Blue Too Cafe Blue Too
There we were enjoying the wine tasting at the Cafe on the Edge of Forever when the CoMoDo Bros. Lazy Day Peaceful World Jazz Lounge Club Band uncorks this tasty rework of an old SWAD tune.
