Michael Gargano

I am a freelance guitarist and guitar instructor with 35 years professional experience. I offer my services for various public/private events and make every attempt to craft music with specific themes for each occasion. I focus on solo jazz guitar renditions of the Great American Songbook of the 30's and 40's, solo guitar treatments of Pop, Rock and Contemporary Music of the 50's-60's-70's and Classical Guitar Music with an emphasis on well known themes by Bach, Wagner and Pacibell. In addition to solo guitar work I also love to play with Upright Acoustic Bass in a duo format and occasionally add Percussion or Drums in the Classic Jazz Guitar Trio format.

I also give private guitar instruction, mostly to adults with guitar playing experience who wish to explore more advanced guitar concepts and structure individual lessons to their needs.

I live with my much better half in Portland, Oregon in the Historic NE Irvington Neighborhood.
