This song came when living alone, broken and trying to rebuild after being depressed, then crushed when promised to be loved forever.
We make mistakes, and we fall, and being weak we swallow the hook of temptation and pay for it. Should have thought of counseling, the way God would approve not any other way.
Therapy can be gained from writing songs, but more, by learning and not going to places that cause pain.

Song: 12 - MY DREAMS CAME TRUE

This is the first and only song I write about suicide. This boy is struggling with depression and an Angel convinces him to take his own life.....a Demon really, a fallen Angel.
I didn't like the original ending, so I changed it so glad I did.
We all want to be loved by our parents, but when our Dad's love us it means so much.

Song: 10 - WANT YOU BACK HOME
Written September 25th 1978
My first hero was my Dad. He was handsome, played the guitar, loved by his family and an amazing welder.
The problem was his job, he was always away, sometimes for weeks and I missed him so much.
Dad welded roll cages on many of my race cars. I miss him now, but he to is home with the Lord, so I will see him again, and my Mom and sister.

Song: 08 - PASSING BY
Written May 14th 1978....Mothers Day
I wrote this song for my wife. Walking through the neighbourhood meeting people but letting them know I can't stay for tea....I'm just Passing By.....because I can't wait to get home to my wife...then I will have tea. My cousin David, who plays on most all of these tunes has been so good to me and put his heart and talent in all these songs.
I wrote this on the piano, and hadn't played it for 30 years but through David's encouragement I was able to remember it and get it finished. He put an amazing guitar sole, a sound similar to the Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Song: 07 - MAKE ME LIKE JESUS

I became a Christian in 1988, many songs were written before that. I continued to write, most songs now to glorify God, to praise His Son Jesus, who set me free, who gave His life so I could live forever.
Make Me Like Jesus came to me while I was driving my truck home, when I got home I forgot how the tune went, I remembered the words but not the melody....it came back to me the next morning...in the shower, are you kidding.
Anyway I kept singing it over and over and rushed to my guitar to get the tune down before I headed to work. The verses came later that night.
I want to live my life like a child of God with Jesus as the example, not to do anything more but to be loving kind caring compassionate and forgiving. When I race my car, my prayer is to race to glorify Jesus. not leave Jesus in the pits until the race is over. I have been so blessed racing and God has been with me always and shown me who Jesus is and how I should live the way I should.

Written December 9th 1980...
John Lennon was my favorite Beatle and was making a come back.
Mark David Chapman hated John Lennon and planned to take his life and did.
The song is called Only Love Should Grow because John preached love.
The words tell the story....."Standing in the hall back against the wall, laughing to yourself cause he don't know" Chapman was a coward. He waited for Lennon to come home, then emptied his gun, killing him. I was so heart broken and angry. I wrote it with anger and compassion, but the only compassion was in Lennons words of love.
Chapman left Hawaii and went to New York, he bought a 38.
"you knew so long ago that you would ruin the show, it ended when you bought that 38. With Jealousy and rage, you forced yourself on stage, you want us all to be..aware that you're MC"......I wouldn't use Chapmans name in the song, he deserved on fame from me even though that's why he did it.

Written Feb 19th 2002...a gospel song reminding us that we need to keep our eyes on Jesus who will show us how to love one another. Too many times when a Christian falls, people turn away from the Church, especially if it's a Pastor, but anyone really. If we focus on Christ and realize no one is perfect accept Jesus, then we love the way we should. By loving Jesus we will know how to love others.
