Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Age 7-12 -- toy drumset / lessons / school band / 4 orchestras / string bass / alto
Age 13-16 -- Classical rock band (Yes, ELP, Rush Heart) / Around and at school speed punk / funk / East Side avant garde / heavy metal parties
Age 17-25 -- Pro bands...many characters! Incredible Twin Cities music scene in multiple genres / Sitting in / began writing
Age 26-30 -- Writing / recording w/ Michael Loonan / TD Mischke / good cover band w/ younger players
Age 30 - 44 ---baby exile another 6 times / Latin Mass Choir / Fiddling w/ the 4-track
45 - go forward
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do, on a sitting-in basis presently which is just where I should be. This includes drummming w/ The Swamp Kings and High Mass w/ the choir.
Your musical influences
What have I especially listened to?
Three Dog Night, Motown, 70's Classical Rock (Yes, ELP, Heart, The Who), Joan Armatrading, Debussey, 80's pop, Laura Nyro, Southern Rock, old Chicago...and many indie artists of usually pop-forms genres.
But I don't think I sound anything like them.
