These are all songs clips from various musical projects I've been involved in over the last few years in some capacity or another. Mostly, it's me, Chris Shepard, on the drums, but I also took a great part in some of the lyrical content, song arrangement, and writing. If you check out the song info, you'll get an idea of how involved I was in that particular recording.
All songs on the music page are in chronological order, with 1 being the earliest recording I have.
All of these songs are original tunes by the bands, unless otherwise noted.
Yep, so many times I cannot count them. I am 'me' when I'm up on stage in front of a high-energy crowd. I've opened for quite a number of world class musical acts and played shows for audiences from 5 people to 70,000 people. I've never really seen any small show as a 'bad show'. It's just that people had better shit to do than come to listen to me. That doesn't mean you throw the show. You play every single one like you're on top of the world and you're going to die that night!!
As a drummer, I feel that I'm a hex between a steady rock and roll player (like a lot of the drummers from the '80's) with a passion for the progressive side of things (like Dream Theater, Fates Warning, or Rush). I'm also cursed by not caring much for rock sounding drums or cymbals. I've always said that I'm a rock drummer with a jazz sound and edge to me.
Always been a HUGE Pearl drums and Zildjian cymbals player. All drums tracks in all songs were recorded using one of the numerous Pearl kits I've had over the years or one the many I own currently (unless otherwise noted). Oh, and Aquarian heads and Pro-Mark sticks. All the rest bite donkey.
Eh, not really. Give it a listen. If it sucks, then you're probably right - it sucks, but hey, now you know cause you've listened to it. Just go and drink a good German dark beer on me and we'll call it even.
One last thing, I want to thank all of the wonderful players that I've had the opportunity to play and record with on these songs. They are and will always be my very best friends!
