SAZ - Melon Time (video)
SAZ are an original music, female fronted, heavy metal (old skool style), kick ass, Scottish rock band. We have been gigging and recording in Scotland for twenty six years and loving every minute.
Band/artist history
The concept for SAZ was born in 1977 with the advent of Punk Rock and became more fully formed during those heady days of the "new wave of britsh heavy metal" a gigging version of the band formed in 1999 and had a distinctly rock/pop sound, which with time, and band member changes, evolved into today's "hard hitting" rock sound with powerful melodic vocals.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, most definately. Playing live is our first love, followed closely by recording, making videos and getting drunk!! A few gigs spring to mind; Supporting Blaze Bailey at the Doghouse in Dundee was amazing. Supporting Torqumada at King Tuts in Glasgow was pure rock and roll mayhem. Back in Dundee, supporting Paul Di'Anno with Maiden Scotland was a drunken blast and avoiding accidentally setting off the pyrotechnics supporting Kiss tribute, Dressed To Kill, was hilarious !!!
Your musical influences
Our favourite bands include; Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Judas Priest, System of a Down, Pink, Muse, Evanescence, Girlschool, Bon Jovi, Sex Pistols, Wire and AC/DC etc etc.
What equipment do you use?
Guild Electric Guitar, Yamaha Bass Guitar, Peavey Combo Amp, Trace Elliot Bass Combo, Premier Drum Kit, Shure Microphones
Anything else?
LONG LIVE ROCK'N'ROLL. KEEP IT LIVE! WE'RE ALL DOOMED! HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU KID. LIVE THE DREAM! WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SHOWER!!
