I am really a solo player, more or less. I do not sing very well so I usually have to get someone else to do that. I like to play all of the instruments; however, that can be a bad thing because there is no fresh perspective to the various parts. I like to make music that makes you think. Of course sometimes it is good to make a song that gets stuck in your head. Or to make a song that moves you emotionally. I am not against making friends here that could possibly start up a collaboration or two. Who knows what could happen when the magic of creativity gets going.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I don't play live anymore. I am no longer in a band that plays out. I used to be in bands that did that. It was great while it lasted.
Your musical influences
Pink Floyd is my main influence. I like Rush, SRV, Hendrix, Pearl Jam, tool, A Perfect Circle, The Smashing Pumpkins, Robin Trower and a ton of others. Mostly older type music. However, I do like some of the newer stuff too. I am inspired by everything that I hear. Even the stuff that I do not like. I get inspired by things that I see and/or feel.
What equipment do you use?
I mostly use Fender Stratocaster guitars. I do own and use a couple of Les Pauls from time to time. And I own an Ibanez guitar and a Charvel as well. I have a Fender "The Twin" amp, Fender Super Champ X2 plus a Hiwatt DR504 50 watt tube head and a Blackstar HT 5 that feed into a Marshall 2x12 cabinet and a 2x12 Hiwatt Cab. Love those Fane speakers. I prefer Boss Pedals; however, I do have a Tube Screamer and a few non Boss guitar items such as an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff and a B. K. Butler Tube Driver. I feed these through my Boss GT-10. I record into Cubase on my PC through a Tascam DM4800 mixing board. I am using Focusrite and ART preamps and a MOTU interface. Plug-in wise, I have finally been able to get ahold of some nice reverbs and several VSTi instruments to help with the recording process. Nothing major really. I also like to change things up from time to time and record on ADAT or Tascam DTRS machines. I have 40 channels/tracks of ADAT and 24 tracks of Tascam DA-38 tape machines. I use onboard reverb and delay from the Tascam mixer and the MOTU interface, and I also use outboard Lexicon effects as well.
