The group formed in the winter of 2000. They were even younger and lyrically immature. At the time there were five members, and they learned the hard way that its not easy becoming a rap star. People did not take them very seriously. They were working very hard and spending every quarter they could get their hand on, to get in the studio. They entered every talent show they could find and were let down every time. They put there heart into every studio session, but the ending result seemed the same, the streets weren't feeling them. Just when they thought things couldn't get worse, they were proven wrong. They lost 2 members to different situations, and were down to only three. With the future of the group on the line, they decided to step their game up.
They hit the streets. The started writing every chance they had, and battled whoever came along with a challenge. They finally had the chance to show the world what they were actually capable of. People began to recognize the amount of skill and potential they had built up, and among that group of people was Freeze (OppHott) and Matik (Fatal Four). They put 3rd Dagree under their wings and put them in the studio. Along the way is when they picked up the final piece to the puzzle Dash, and together the began making songs. After repeatedly melting the booth, they had accumulated enough tracks to make a mixtape. So they put it together,named it the 3 Unit mixtape, and hit the streets full force. The mixtape created a major buzz in the Lake County area, but it was just a sample of what is to come with their highly anticipated debut album, #1 Draft Picks. I Know its been a long wait, but i can assure you that it was well worth it.Have you performed in front of an audience?yea u gotta perform,we play all over the chicago area and we have done shows in millwaukee too,we love to perform its nothing better then seeing people react to your creation
Your musical influences
well all of us have diffrent influences but u can tell who likes who because its in our flow i.e Flames biggest influence is T.I and u can hear a simular flow on our song "get this money",Blazes biggets influence is Lloyd banks,Dash's biggest influence is Memphis bleek,and Hot-Boi's is Ludacris.thats not all of them but the major ones we still have people like Lil'wayne,Jay-z,Nas ect.What equipment do you use?
We dont use anything but pens, pads, and micsAnything else?
We spit diffrent styles on every song we tried to come at diffrent angles on every subject so we were not really set on 1 style but this is jus our first album we dropped mix tapes tho.The songs we post on here are our more commercial joints but if u not into this kind of music hit us on da message board and we can get u what u want,also hit us on da message board to let us know what u think about our music wether u like it or not we appreciate pointers on what to do and what not to do.
