J.A.K,started his music career from a very very young age of 8, It all started in 1997 when his big bro "dj sonic" now known as richard lee brought his technics mk2s as the weeks went buy of watching him practice before gigs etc..... I was realy intrested in djing myself by then it was late 1997 early 1998 when j.a.k started spinning records the music genre was 2-step and speed garage and hard house and i carried on mixing 2-step an speed garage up untill his bro moved out in 2000 then j.a.k had a big problem he had no turntables so he managed to scrape 300 for a pair of cheap numark direct drive turntables. By then the whole 8-bar garge scene had started and musical mob brought a whole new sound to the underground scene with a tune called pulse x and wiley kat had just brought a few singles out.....so u can guess what records j.a.k was buying.....GRIME....... At that time j.a.k was known as "dj slipfast jak" and had played a few nights at one of walsalls most sucessfull grime events "URBAN SHAKEDOWN" playing along side "hydro crew" "pure pressure" now known as "full pressure" and "higher stakes" so this had boosted his confidence straight up because the nights was very sucessfull. 2006 J.A.K is on a level of mixing,main genre of music bein grime hes allways looking for mcs to do mix cds with so if your a mc from near walsall add jakharris@hotmail.com and sort somthing out anyways im out -1-Your musical influences
I was influenced by my big bro mainly then dj ez and slimzee when he was smashing the scene with pay as u go crew ill never forget the 8 bar dubplates he played BRAP but now a days i influence myself i listen 2 my mixes on cd and think of ways i can improve them to make sure im up 2 scratch at mixingWhat equipment do you use?
