1 Method is a faith based Christian Heavy metal band from Monroe, LA. The band has been around since 2001, and has had many line-up changes. To this day founder Mitch Laing is the only original member. The band started as a way for four friends to get together, worship Jesus Christ, and witness to their community. The bands original lineup of Mitch Laing, Zach Hall, Jake Phillips, and Travis Smith lasted from 2001-2003. In early 2003 the band released their first album "Road to Glory" with Humility records. In the summer of 2003, Zach, Jake, and Travis all quit the band for various reasons. The band was then reformed with Heath Gorman on drums, Jeremy Harrington on bass, Stephen Weeks on guitar, and Mitch Laing retaining guitar and vocal duties. This new 1 Method changed the bands sound from alternative rock worship music into heavy metal worship. The band then began to develop a larger fan base in the local music scene. In winter of 2004 Jeremy and Stephen both exited the band for personal and spiritual reasons. 2005 saw the return of a stronger, heavier, and better 1 Method. Mitch and Heath had found three new members that matched their love of God and dedication to the ministry. Austen Jennings became the bands 2nd guitarist and was soon joined by Jeremy Cloyd on bass and Kyle Simpson on 3rd guitar. The band then recorded and released their second album "Tribulation" in July of 05. Throughout the rest of 2005 the band toured constantly on the album. 2006 saw another change in the band. Austen Jennings left to start other ministries. Soon long time drummer Heath Gorman left to do missionary work in Romania. Heath was replaced by Brandon Carter on drums, and the band decided to remain a two guitar player band. The band is currently working on their 3rd album "Bleed This Heart of Stone" which they hope to have released by Fall of 2006.
