In November of 1996 the band 101 was formed. They named the project 101 because of the significance in the coming digital age. The group played their fist show at the Concord Pavilion (Concord , CA) in April of 1997. Their first EP entitled "Flood" was released in June of that year and a tour of the Bay Area followed . Shows continued sporadically after.
The Silver EP was released in 2003, as a follow up to Flood. The two EPs were combined to make a Best Of, released in 2004.
Club Cocodre, The Maritime Hall (San Francisco,), U.C. Berkeley, The Driftwood (Oakland), Café Paris (Sacramento), and Club Kaos (Fremont) were some of the venues the band played over the years.
The Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, and The Cult may all come to mind when hearing their music.
101 was known for intense and energetic live shows. The band’s final show was in 2006, at The Epidemic in Brentwood, CA.Contact
