Fusion with-in Sound & Movement...
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Zuk has been studying music since age 5, along with theory & instrumental study, such as piano, viola & electric bass. In 1995 he found depth with-in DJ/Producer art forms & human interactions. Zuk has formualted a unique mixing style matching keys & rhythms allowing subtle transitions to occur. While performing with live intrumental groups Zuk is known for his choice of rare vinyl samples creating soundscapes around & with-in any group sound, utilizing the turntable as an essential element. He has also been fortunate to perform with many live spoken word artists & jazz musicians, most notably Greg Davis...son of great Miles. While performing live DJ mixing he loves creating open space fusion with dancers, listeners & lounge-lizards displaying the sounds of Deep House, Nu-jazz, Trip-hop, Global Beats & Ambient Textures. In 2004 Zuk began his focus with-in his original Producing & Compostion, fusing with local Musicians, DJ's, Engineers, Independent Film Makers & Performing Artists, as well as DJing his original pieces @ Clubs, Lounges, Cultural Centers & Performing Art Theaters. Throughout time he has fused people of all ages, cultures & experience, bridging the gap with awareness of Nu Eclectic Music & Dance. Zuk looks forward to sharing his pro-active message with you...
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I perform live abstract turntablism & ocassionally electric bass and keyboard with fusion musicians, artists & experimental ensembles. I also perfrom live DJ mixing. Most of these performance are with-in my local area & occassionally when traveleing. I love it all & every moment is special.
Your musical influences
Passion is my influence. The depth & motion that sound allows & creates proves to me there is more out there than the corner store. I find Deep House to be beautiful, I've seen endless movements created from this experience. Soul driven Funk-Nu Jazz & Deep Vocal Textures I enjoy very much. Ethnic-esque Fusion always tingles me.
