Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Combine the storytelling ability of Nas with the universal appeal of Tupac and the swagger of Too Short, and you've got Zoser. With his unique voice, energetic delivery and innovative concepts he set himself apart from the current crop of rappers. Born in Chicago, IL and raised for most of his years 10 miles south in the suburb of Glenwood, Zo now reps the Chi once again. His father, a jazz musician who taught music on the city's West Side for over 20 years surrounded Zoser with every type of music from Etta James to Stevie Wonder. Starting where his old man left off Zoser began saving the money he'd make from raking leaves, shoveling snow or any other hustle he could come up with and paying for studio time at the age of 15. Producers Zo has since worked with include N.O.I.D., Dug Infinite, Needlz, Jamal Rasheed, Mr. Williams, Indiana Jones, 5th Element, Tye Hill and the Molemen.
Zo has always embraced the Do it yourself ethic. Now after many years in the music business, his time is finally coming to shine. After working with other industry professionals, Zoser is using the knowledge he gained to make not only excellent music but smart career moves also. Instead of looking for a record deal, Zoser has opted to make a living from music independently of any major record label and if the deal makes sense, to partner with a major label later. He has released two full length CDs, 1 Day At a Time and Day 2: The Lost Sessions and has sold thousands of CDs nationwide with a buzz that keeps growing. Starting his own music company, 1 Day Music Group, Inc. was the next logical step for Zoser who is now planning and booking a tour of the Midwest to increase his exposure and sell his new CD, Day 3, which he is now in the process of recording.
