Zigatango was formed in early 2006 by a group of young musicians keen to explore the styles of Argentinean Tango and traditional Gypsy music. Their ever-growing repertoire showcases a variety of different musical combinations; and in April 2007, they joined forces with a dazzlingly gifted young juggler, Alex Duhig, to perform at . Zigatango has since attracted the talents of additional musicians, as well as Gypsy dancer Ivanna Mayorenko. Together, they continue to perform around Perth and Fremantle, either as a dynamic musical act, or incorporating juggling, dancing and magic tricks into a 'street theater'-type performance.Have you performed in front of an audience?Australian Festivals, local Perth venues and other special events. Now that the CD is out we are looking at tour options for 2009.
Your musical influences
- Argentinean who is credited with revolutionising tango music. We also like some of the Roby Lakatos arrangements of traditional gypsy. There are some great folk sounds that we have recorded inspired from artists such as Fiddlers Four.Anything else?
