I went to school for Audio and video production through "The Recording Connection" although I have learned much more from actually doing what I do every day, audio school laid the foundation of past knowledge that I add to every waking moment. For the past 7 years, in addition to my own studio, I've worked engineering and/or producing at Broken Records, Susquehanna Sound, Absolute Sound & SongCrafters.
I've always said all I need are decent mics and clean inputs and I'll deliver the best sound possible. While everyone else is obsessing over towers of unnecessary gear or even inexpensive junk just to look cool, I'm proving my EARS and experience to be the greatest asset I could ever offer my clients, just listen to the music and decide for yourself. There is no garbage between those mic's and the console, just clean, accurate goodness. But that doesn't mean we can't get something to sound "Lo-fi" if you wan't it that way.
I've recorded/produced bands you may or may not know such as Gravity Hill, Lowjack, Dividian, Armed Conflict, Among Thy Saints, Fleshbane, The Dying Cause, mastered Breaking Benjamins first demo and many more.
Outside of music prduction my main priority is my 3 year old son Dayne Zaring, he and my wife Candi are the best things that ever happened in my life. I am also the vocals/guitarist for "Solvus" and you can hear some of our music at http://www.myspace.com/solvus We range from metal to rock (Progressive Rock).I am also a graphics geek, but that always seems to go hand in hand with music.
Pricing (below) isn't hourly here at Z.P. and includes recording, mixing and mastering. This equals less pressure and better performance. Not having to worry about time let's you remain creative and focused. The only restriction on actual recording time is the dates that are scheduled. Usually this is 24 hours over two days Ex: Saturday 10AM-10PM-Sunday 10 AM-10PM. (Plenty of time to play through your songs dozens of times) This is for the recording and overdub process only, not mixing and mastering which are included in the per song price. In the event that this allotted time is exceeded, which hasn't happened yet, a $25/hour charge will be applied.

J. Zaring is also available as an independent producer/engineer for recording or live sound.
Mastering:
Mastering is included in the insane low price stated above, or:
Mastering of an existing recording that you may not be happy with. This includes noise/hiss removal and standard mastering to achieve radio friendly mixes. CD mastering is the difference between a "demo" and a "record". This process includes relative level adjustments between songs, noise reduction, dynamics processing for maximum punch, equalization, limiting and dithering. All of the audio will "translate" properly on all playback systems. We will also provide a PQ sheet for CD replication.
Pricing for mastering:
$25/song.
I have proven time and again to be mastering on the level of studios charging several times our rate.

Hey dude you a busy young man. I found you doing a search for files. You and one other group were the only 2 that caught my interest. Listening to everything else. Great recording, the education payed off. Artwork is good also. I would like to hear from you as you continue your journey, I've been playing since I was 8, about about 35 years now. Did the "something to fall back on education". Came in handy. Keep up the good work and ...... .....many blessing
