zak and his unhappy guitar

Um...let's see...I was born in 1971 and I live in Montreal, Canada. I play lots of different kinds of music, but some of my favorite stuff to play is country blues. I don't think I'll ever sound like any of my musical heroes, and I sure as hell can't like any of 'em, but I have a pretty good time trying, especially when the booze is flowing freely. These recordings are all done live, singin' and playin' in one take, no overdubs, warts'n'all.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I'm Zak, blah blah blah blah (--------), you can hear me do other kinds of stuff with and , I've recorded with a whole mess of other people, I hate music - it ruined my life. Just kiddin. It ruined my life but I still don't really hate it.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
All the time...you can't play when you're dead.
Your musical influences
All the great country blues artists of the 20's and 30's, old American punk rock like the Ramones, Dickies, Dead Kennedys, pre-Rollins era Black Flag, Bad Brains, Septic Death, the Feederz, etc etc etc, electric blues guys like Robert Nighthawk, Elmore James, Hound Dog Taylor, J.B. Hutto, 60s garage punk and surf instrumentals, Western Swing, country like Joe Maphis and Jimmy Bryant, the one and only link Wray, Duke Ellington, Bix Beiderbecke, Fletcher Henderson, King Benny Nawahii, the Legendary Stardust Cowboy, Hasil Adkins, Andre Williams, Randy Holden, the Hunger, Cliff Gallup, Scotty Moore, and David Allan Coe.
What equipment do you use?
I use a guitar, a thumpick and a fingerpick, a bottleneck, and my stomping foot.
