My Name is Young Relay.. I am originally born and raised in Queens, New york, but I moved to DE in 2001.I am a SOLO Artist who continuously day in and day out makes those freestyles that are ear tingling...I have probably unlimited punchlines, and some slick metaphors..I started this rap stuff in 2004, but i didnt get serious with it until October of 2005..I have two homemade albums called "Winnin the Race", and "Head Start"..I'm releasing another one this summer called "Relay Race", along with the Movie DocumentaryBand/artist history
Young Relay (Jamal James) was born in Queens, NY on Dec,10,1988.He lived in long island, but spent much of his time in queens since that's where most of his friends family lived and still reside in. Being Suspended twice in grade school, he was forced switched to a private school in order not to go the same route as his peers.
He went through private school mostly trouble free, and then moved to DE in 2001.It was there when he truly picked up the passion to rap, and through high school battled other mc's, and recorded freestyles on his free time from sports.
Now Young Relay is on the grind dis summer releasing freestyle cd's each month, and spreading the word over sites such as myspace. and facebook.Have you performed in front of an audience?I was going to perform at a show in june, but I was too late to enter the main lineup.
Your musical influences
My favorite music is Rap..I listen to different people growing up such as Jay-Z, Nas, B.I.G, P.A.C, Snoop Dogg, Lox, Kris Kross, were my favorite growing up..Now I am feelin the Dipset, Clipse, Fabolous, Cassidy,LLoyd Banks, Busta Rhymes, and Eminem..I like some southern artists such as Luda, Jezzy, Lil Wayne, and T.IWhat equipment do you use?
I use a Mic, Instrumentals from other songs(Since I can BARELY GET BEATS, If u know any beat sites hit me up), and a program called Sound Forge, and Cakewalk to edit up the sound, and a cd burner.Anything else?
