Yellowment
Well bitches we are.Yellowment a band straight outta bum fuck Cape Girardeau, MO. Our sound is like Primus in some songs, with the heavy funk basslines and trippy sounding guitar, etc. Some of our music also sounds like the Marz Volta or At the Drive-In. With that pogressive yet funky mellow sound. ANd of course the sacred herb, that is also an inspiration to our music!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Well it started a while ago and its still going!?
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes we play live.D owe like it.... I really dont know. It's fun playing ths show but some of the bands are assholes sometimes. Special moment......there are none.
Your musical influences
The guitar playing is influenced by Omar Rodruigez, the guitarist for At the Drive-In and the Marz Volta, so it has a very wild and creepy or happy feeling. The drums are quite unique. Some of the things Cody does is very new and probablly not yet done. This includes unusal rims shots drums beats, etc. The bass playing is very unique in a sense of using many different techinques and styles. Big influence by Les Claypool, from Primus. The vocals seem infuenced by Cedric Valla from the Marz Volta and Chester Benington form Linkin Park. The singing is sweet and sensitive, but agressive and powerful in the screams.
What equipment do you use?
Well Hunt the Punt uses Orange Heads with Marshall JCM 900 cabs, and an LTD Deluxe EC-1000. Zach uses AKG mics. Cody uses K-Tama drums with Zildjian, Paiste, and Wuhan cymbals.I, Christian use a 1974 Ibanez road bass, and a OLP MM2. At the moment i have no bass amp my last one blew. Borroow and use Mesa boogie cabs with i think an SVT-4 pro series bass head.
