xdxd's music is a voyage into depth.
Music is almost always inspired by xdxd's poetry, and by the images it suggests.
Not intended for dancing, even if it often brings dance as a side effect, it stimulates thoughts, loops of the mind.
The band is just xdxd, along with occasional collaborations.
Band/artist history
Started playing prog rock in the early '90s, then got bored of playing in bands so I started fiddling around with technological sounds, which I've been playing now for about 7 years.
I partecipated to lots of gigs in the european rave scene for about 4 years, then moved on to more elaborate music, which I played around for the rest of the time.Lately I performed in Italy, Canada, Brasil and Finland.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play live very often.
I recently played at various raves in Europe, but those situations just don't appeal me any more.
I just love playing live. The music I play is just totally different than what you find on my CDs, though.
A lot is based on the feeling of the moment.
Your musical influences
xdxd's influences come directly from psychedelic music of the 70's, from progressive rock, from the quality electronics of the 80's.
Mix Ozric Tentacles with Kraftwerk, Area with Laibach, Weather Report with Joey Beltram and you obtain a sound similar to xdxd.
What equipment do you use?
lots and varying equipment, varying in time and situation. Mainly PC, software and MIDI synths by Korg, Nordlead and Novation at the studio; mainly a bass guitar, a floorfull of pedal effects, a series of synths by Nordlead and Novation, a mixer a Pioneer cd mixer and a PC with FruityLoops for live performances.
Anything else?
.. be abstract...
thanks for dropping by!
