X-Cetra
My band is only one person that makes all the beats writes all the lyrics around the beats and raps/or sings what ever the song calls for my entire life i have been involved in music so I am experienced in knowing how music should sound without any professional outlook to mess with my creativity in the art.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I myself have been making music and writing lyrics and rapping for about 4 years i have always had a full time job so i havent been able to get anywhere in the business but im trying right now to get my GED and after that i might go to Hollywood to a producing college and be able to use better equipment.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
so far i have never played live as X-Cetra but in my life i have done concerts and always got people into the music that i was performing. the most that i have ever performed in front of is 1000 people and when i was done the crowd whent wild by screaming and banging on the floor.
Your musical influences
my major influence would have to be from back in the day Cypress Hill around Temples of Boom and now id say XRaided and Brotha Lynch Hung with a little mix of Mobb Deep (not with G-Unit)even though im white its not Eminem not because he sucks cause he is very good but he does his own thing that gets old very fast. the other people that i look up to would be Project Pat, and for the quality that someone came out with with working with shitty equipment i got to give it up for The Manson Family they were far from MTV and still made it on the charts because they had so much talent in there raps making people forget the quality of the recording. But for the story writing technique i would say Notorious B.I.G, he had a lot of songs that were story format that are still to this day some of my favorite songs.
What equipment do you use?
my equipment that i use sucks shit but i do with what i have but it is the MTV Music Generator 1 on the regular playstation and that is hooked up to a 75.00 Karaoke machine which is hooked up to a cd recorder thats not on the computer, and then if i want some cheap effect i take my burnt cd and upload it on the computer and mess with it then hook the computer up to the cd burner and reburn the song with the new effect and turn it into a mp3 and take it to this site.
Anything else?
all that i am doing is trying to see if anyone likes the music that i make, i wish that poeple could overlook the fact that the cd quality isnt that great and just focus on the lyrics and the type of flow and the way that i go around the beats
