wraith(TX)
wraith does not wish to re-invent the industrial wheel. it only wants to pound it's personal spikes into it. it exists simply as an expression of existing.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
in the current music world, industrial is all but dead. the genre has been drowned with techno, pop and metal stylings. it's dark roots and sounds left behind in the pursuit of 'art'. even the giants of the scene has begun to abandon their signature harshness. wraith is a throwback to the times when industrial was nasty and hard. started 1995 in houston, tx. and in 1999 wraith relocated to chicago. wraith has always been written and programmed by one person, with rare exceptions. this has directly resulted in an inconsistent live band that has given wraith several different live vehicles, often with mixed results. i have also branched off into several other projects under various aliases and sounds (temperfuse, wintermute, version4, wetwire, to name a few) as well as contributing to live performances of other electronic acts; drumming for endif and pisstake, guitars and vocals for thirteen13
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
yes!! i live to perform, the chance to realize a vision and it's evolution when a band comes together and pours it out.... very loud.
Your musical influences
if wraith were a meal, it's what you would get if you where to mix equal parts leatherstrip and 16volt, add a hint of skinny puppy, nin, and/or depeche mode for flavor. heat in the fires of hell until cooked thoroughly or until black around the edges. salt to taste, goes great with chemical enhancers of the nastier variety.
What equipment do you use?
ensoniq, kurzweil, korg, alesis, zoom, yamaha, digitech, sony, jackson guitars, software
Anything else?
