Re-recorded with a new SM57 Right - Nitro w/ NO boost Left - Nito w/ clean boost from Maxon OD-9 please forgive the sh***ty solo. i am not a lead player by any means =/
see below for specs/setup
Each guitar panned to each side 75%. Nitro (harmonies) on right, Cobra (maxon 808-boosted) on the left.
Re-did the previous recording but this time turned up the master volume a bit more to get the amp opened up. Sounds much warmer. Had to dial down the bass a bit. Everything else is the exact same.
Messing around with the Nitro in drop tuning using passive pickups. KT77s, 50 watt mode, OD1, Eminence Governor mic'ed w/ SM57. ESP Horizon w/ SD Custom in the bridge. Drop C tuning.
Splawn Nitro, JJ KT77s, 50 watt mode, master ~8:00, gain 3:00, OD1, Eminence Governor mic'ed w/ sm57, Les Paul Custom w/ SD Custom bridge pickup, standard tuning, excuse the crappy midi drums =p
Splawn Nitro loaded w/ JJ KT77s, 50 watt mode, master ~8:00, gain 3:00, OD1, Eminence Governor mic'ed w/ sm57, Les Paul Custom w/ SD Custom bridge pickup
Nitro w/ SED =C= EL34s. Amp is running open at ~8:00 master vol w/ loop disengaged, , gain at 3:00, OD1, Eminence Governor mic'ed w/ SM57 at 45 degrees.
Splawn Nitro - KT77s - OD1 (OD2 for solo) - 50 watt mode - gain @ 3:00, master volume @ 8:30. Splawn 412. Sm57 on Eminence Governor. ESP Horizon NT-II w/ SD Custom. Still sounds a bit distant due to bad mic'ing on my part.
Everything is the same as below (50 watt mode, Gain ~2:45 OD2, Small Block65 spkr) but I did not use the low volume FX loop trick. This was recorded with the amp running open with master volume ~8:30. As you can hear, it is less muddy/dark sounding
Splawn Nitro - SED Winged C EL34s - 50 watt mode - master volume @ ~8:30 - volume pedal in fx loop to bring down to tv volume - gain @ 2:00 OD2 - Gibson Les Paul Custom w/ SD Custom pu - Eminence Splawn Small Block 64 speaker miced w/ SM57
Splawn Quickrod, KT77's, 3rd gear, OD2, gain at 11:30, volume at 7:30ish, 50 watt setting. Gibson Historic '57 Les Paul Custom w/ a Seymour Duncan Custom in the bridge. Splawn 212 w/ Eminence Governor mic'ed with an sm57.
First shot at recording the QR with recently installed JJ KT77's. Gibson Historic '57 Les Paul Custom w/ a SD Duncan Custom in the bridge. Amp at 7:30 master volume, gain at 11:30, 3rd gear, OD2, 50 watt setting. Splawn 212, Emin. Gov. mic'ed
Some old school In Flames. Recorded with an LTD MH-300, EMG 81b, 85n (cleans), Drop C tuning, 3rd gear OD2, gain at noon, low volume, 50 watt setting, Mullard EL34s. Splawn 212 w/ Eminence Governor mic'ed with an sm57. No effects added.
Same song as above but without the backing track. Everything is raw. No effects. Two guitars, one panned 85% left and the other 85% right.
Same as below but in 3rd gear, OD1, slightly higher volume, more gain. I like this one A LOT more =)
