Are you tired of the same run-of-the-mill hardcore bands. Are you looking for something different? Are you looking for something new. You've come to the right place. Wound is a rock band from Tacoma, WA that is bending and warping the genres of rock, metal, and hardcore all into one. With wah saturated lead guitar, crunchy distorted rhythm, pounding bass, steady drums, and ear splitting vocals, Wound is an all out assault on rock-n-roll.
Wound has gone through several changes since its conception in early 2002. The band started as Mental Resolution, a three person band that never amounted to anything due to lack of involvement from the old drummer, Brett Jensen. Jon Wuori (bassist) and Aaron Biando (guitar) wanted something more than Brett's casual involvement. After no-showing for a talent show, Brett was out, and the new drummer Ryan Nelson was added in as a replacement. The band lacked vocals though, and after going over several singers (notably Jordan Wegner), Ben Schubert joined the band playing rythm guitar and singing/screaming to complete the band. The band was now recreated almost completely from the original band, and was renamed Wound (Pronounced wow'nd). With Jon's overpowering and pounding skill on bass, Aaron's smooth electronic riffs, Ryan's quick adeptness to drums, and Ben's glass shattering vocals Wound has been creating songs over the past several months.
We have played several shows. One at a coffee shop, one at a local theater, and a couple at school. We love it, nothing's better thank the feeling you get when your on stage.
Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Tool, Green Day, Powerman 5000, At The Drive In, Mars Volta, pretty much any music we listen to influences us in one way or another.
