Letters Letters
Bitter Bhajan (MWT) Bitter Bhajan (MWT)
For a limited time, this song as well as all the others will be available for free download on my 'MUSIC' page
Chai (MWT) Chai (MWT)
Bright little dirge on messy relationships, cursed biology, and addiction
Acrobat (MWT) Acrobat (MWT)
Written from an 'involved bystander's' point of view. Romance is such a pitiful little thing. Gets people all worked up and vulnerable. I guess some would say thats the point of the whole exercise.
space (MWT) space (MWT)
slow, sparse, fragile. In a strange way, its probably the most honest yet least direct song I have written.
Circus Circus
Never Really Mine (MWT) Never Really Mine (MWT)
Acoustic ditty inspired by Elliot Spitzer, hypocrites, wannabe artists-turned-prostitutes, unwitting men they leave behind in small towns, venereal diseases, and uncivilized subway class collisions
Sunburn (MWT) Sunburn (MWT)
This song isn't quite ready yet but is informed by the musical arrangements found on Robert Plant's 'Dreamland' and 'Mighty Rearranger' albums and pays homage to Dylan's brilliant (but much too long) 'Desolation Row'.
Bleed (MWT) Bleed (MWT)
The only survivor from the original batch of songs from 2005, referred to henceforth as the 'Dusty Demos'. The first song of mine that elicited reviews including words like 'promise' and 'talent'. Its pretty naive compared to the cynicism on the rest
Exit (MWT) Exit (MWT)
Closing track of MWT. The out of tune guitar was originally unintended but I've been told it adds to the 'folkiness' of the song. My laziness ensures that I wont be revisiting it anytime soon.
Letters (Double) Letters (Double)
This track is tinged with some eastern influences. it started out as an angry polemic but slowly morphed into a possibly more apt mood of weary resignation.
No Such Place (Double) No Such Place (Double)
Another of the old demos from 2005. I had this 'reversed' guitar track lying around from 'letters' which is a more standard, guitar driven 'song'. the vocals are recorded through a computer microphone so I'm just about as emotive as a pumpkin. Its a
PMS (Dusty demo) PMS (Dusty demo)
Melodic rap, I guess, would be the best deskription. In any event, its too underdeveloped and primitive to find release.
Antidote (Dusty demo) Antidote (Dusty demo)
recorded in one take on a computer microphone and picked up a strange tonal quality in the process. The song could never be rerecorded because it captured the mood of one suffocating afternoon and I just don't emote to it as strongly as I did then, p
Ugly (Dusty demo) Ugly (Dusty demo)
This is the original dusty demo. You'll notice its quite heavily soaked in the 'alternative' juices that really aren't that alternative anymore. The lyrics are much too simplistic, in that brainless pop song way.
