All across Northern Ohio, for over four years, Word of Mouth has been spreading the sonic gospel with passion and purpose, becoming everybodys favorite indescribable indie band. Combining high-energy, subtle intimacy, humor, sex, social commentary and exuberance for life in a flight of ideas and sounds that aptly describes the human condition, Word of Mouth must be experienced, simply not seen and heard.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The bands members come from different backgrounds, areas, life styles, and ages. Each influenced by something different but each only cares about what is written/performed collectively with purpose and thought. We are not a metal band, although some of our songs can have the signature guitar crunch associated with such a style. We are not a Jazz band, but many of our songs casually slip into Jazz stylings. We are not a country band, blues or punk band, but small influences of all of those sounds creeps into our music. Overall our sound is based on strong songwriting and attention to detail, cleverly combining elements from a broad range of experiences and tastes to forge a unique signature sound.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live when ever and where ever we can, as it would be very difficult to play dead.
Your musical influences
In discovering this music youll find yourself getting into some groove then feeling like someone just slapped you upside the head to pay attention and listen, pulling you, mind and soul, into the songs, compelling the listener to feel and visualize the sensation - not just bob their heads to a beat.
