Wishinghour

Reknowned for destroying all manner of breakable stage equipment, such as microphone stands, and the like - Wishinghour are a 5 metal/quirk/rock band hailing from Wales' capitol - which, lets face it, may as well be England. Or maybe not.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
1999: Cris persuades Sam to purchase a bass guitar and form a band. Sam grudgingly complies. Early 2000: Cris and Sam form 'ACID STARS' with Lorna Loveday on drums. That really didn't last long... Summer 2000: Cris and Sam try again to form decent band...spend entire summer writing 3 minute punk/grunge/love songs. September/November 2000: Max Kenna joins on drums and Simon Mackay joins on guitar. As Max had no kit and Simon couldn't really play the guitar we encountered a few problems. Sorry guys! October 2000: The girls con the very innocent and very sweet Aaron Fegan in to playing the drums for them. The band is named Wishinghour (because the logo on the page of 200 random band names we came up with looked the best) and the three piece record four songs straight in to the computer on a home made EP called 'Mental Floss'. It was absolutely appalling, but kinda fun... February 17, 2001: The band play their first live gig in the Railway Pub, Caerphilly. We have the video footage - Aaron looks like he's glowing neon and Sam looks terrifying, beneath her flowing locks, occasionally you see her eyes dart suspiciously around the room... March 2001: Sarah Clark joins the band to thicken up the sound. The band play three gigs with her, records first proper demo (China Black) and part ways for other ventures. September 2001: Beth joins on guitar and the band spend 6 months writing tunes and recorded three with the lovely fellas from Dopamine. We play a whole bunch of gigs with her and attempt to get noticed June 2002: Mike Cloke joins on guitar. A new demo, 'And Suddenly Nothing' is recorded at Le Mons studio. He stays until September then leaves due to travel problems. Another guitarist down. September 2002: James Brown joins. No he isn't black, and no he doesn't have an Afro. January 2003: The lovely Adam Walton sends us to the studio for the fourth time to record a live session for radio Wales, shortly after the airing, Beth leaves the band, making her the fourth guitarist to go!!! March 2003: (Band)Anna joins! Woo! Please don't leave us!? Later in March 2003: Wishinghour are on Total Rock's 'New World Order'. Jim swears live on the radio. Anna leaves. Is it something I said? April 2003: Mike is begged to return. He complies.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes we do...wherever we can and whenever we're required. We love it. We breathe for it. We write cheesy songs for it.... I think Sam walking off the stage was a pretty classic moment. That'll teach us to play too slow.
