wintermute (IL)
industrial influenced synthpop
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
wintermute is the counterpart to the industrial band wraith. it's name was lifted from the william gibson novel 'nueromancer'. in the story, wintermute was the second half of an intellegence wihout which the title character could not become whole. it seemed like an appropriate title for a project born to retain the purity of another.
those familiar with the creative impulse and the results of influence can understand how wintermute came into creation. exposure to synthpop music and exploration into more emotional lyrics bred the first wintermute songs. instead of leaving it at that, it was decided that it was a sound worth exploring further and wraith was stripped of its increasing synthpop influences. free of the restraints of wraith, wintermute could now grow and develop its own style on its own time.
