windchILL of Artists Over Industry

Central Pennsylvania is more known for it's delicious Hershey chocolate than its hip hop scene. Emerging with nothing more than a sharp intellect and raw sense of life's woes, windchILL of Harrisburg hip hop heros, Artists Over Industry, is blazing a trail on the local music scene. 2007 marks the beginning of a new path with windchILL's official solo debut, "I Have Arrived", released on indie label STLP. Beginning his journey into hip hop in the year 1996, windchILL has been writing and recording songs creating a buzz that has expanded far beyond the confining Pennsylvania corn fields and farm land. From four track demos to commercial releases, he is no amateur in a game flooded with fakes. A respected freestyler in local ciphers, windchILL is no stranger to the cut throat business that surrounds the hip hop genre. Armed with an independent attitude, windchILL has taken an active role in the creation of "I Have Arrived," from the infant writing stages to the finished product released to the public. With influences from hip hop's golden era such as The Artifacts, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and Black Moon, windchILL is on a mission to bring back the early '90s feel good vibe without dismissing the emotional connections to his listeners. A seasoned performer with an unmatched intensity level, windchILL has shared stages with artists spanning up and down the east coast and as west as Ohio. Rocking stages with national recording artists such as KRS-ONE, Method Man, The Pharcyde, The Procussions and more, windchILL's accomplishments in the area have gained him both commercial and critical success. windchILL is an emcee with ambitions to bring real hip hop back to the forefront of a genre that has become more of a mockery than an art form. His real life attitude reflects on both the stage and in the studio. With a firm grip on life's harsh reality and a microphone in his overworked palm, windchILL has joined the fight along with STLP(Artists Over Industry & Apollos Sun) to bring back real hip hop and wake the world from its slumber in 2007 and beyond.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Smashing onto the Central Pennsylvania hip hop scene with his debut solo album, "I Have Arrived" (released on STLP), windchILL is an emcee on a mission. Fresh off the success of windchILL's group endeavor with Artists Over Industry (Harrisburg, PA), 2007 is proving to be his year. "I Have Arrived" hit store shelves and internet sites on July 21st 2007, with much anticipation from all corners of the planet. The album is a hard edged look at reality, with a painful undertone and sharp lyrics to match. Hard hitting beats round the album out leaving no listener's preference neglected. Album production includes artists such as: MikeiLL (New York), Breakbeat (New York), Big Gard of Artists Over Industry, and underground staple JJ Brown (New York, Fat Beats). The lead album single, "Pay Homage" was produced by Louis Logic's (Fat Beats, NY) go to man, JJ Brown, and is an ode to classic hip hop albums from the 80s and 90s. With a firm grip on where hip hop was birthed, windchILL's "I Have Arrived" is officially here to make its mark on the Pennsylvania music scene and beyond. Styles range from heartfelt songs concerning loss of friends (Best Friends Become Strangers - Prd by Breakbeat) and family (Ain't it Strange - Prd by Brekbeat) to scathing warnings to those opposing windchILL's movement (Come With Me - Prd by MikeiLL). Featured artists on the album include windchILL's very own label mates, Inkwell of Artists Over Industry, and Apollo's Sun. Other featured artists include: SL of Repeat Offenders, Phynite and last but not least Local RnB queen Ladii J. All features on "I Have Arrived" are sparse, yet placed properly and not overdone. "I Have Arrived" is a testament to windchILL's unmatched passion for hip hop and examines all corners of his war battered brain. Expect "I Have Arrived" to be considered nothing less than a classic record that will shatter all boundaries and spread windchILL's message to listeners all over the world.
