Wild Bill's Blues and Rock

I just want to do some recording and share the music with the rest of world. For me it's a real outlet from the stress of life. I have my work to do and the bills aren't going to go away. I started recording in 1993 to have more satisfaction from playing and to have some kind of record of where I'm at and where I can go. This stuff is really hard work to learn and to perform, but it sure doesen't feel like work. It's just such a fun challenge. But like a lot of folks, I'm never satisfied with where I'm at with recording, so I just keep trying to learn.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started playing in bands in junior high in College Park, Georgia in 1973. Competed in the school talent show with my Band "Atlantica" playing, you know, House of the Rising Sun! As far as playing, I've gone from guitar to drums and back countless times over the years. Now days I mainly just play guitar and try to play bass. Played in a rock band on base while stationed at Kunsan AB Korea in 1997. Played as a guest guitarist with members from a band called "Gravel Road" and Rich from "Rich and the Wreckers" at the nite club called MeGuires in Tehachapi, California in late 1999 or early 2000. I do love to play and I enjoy doing original stuff. I have not learned much of the famous bands tunes that I was influenced with.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not anymore. I play at home. I have my own little project studio with the 16 channel mixer and of course a couple of Lava lamps that's real nice to have when I get the urge to create.
Your musical influences
Stevie Ray Vaughan, Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Bad Company, Albert King, B.B. King, Freddy King, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, and too many other various bands/artists.
What equipment do you use?
My current recording setup Is a Pentium 4 2.26 ghz computer with an 80 gig maxtor hard drive. Cubase VST32 and a bunch of music software. For drums I use Drums on Demand, Vst Drum Sessions, and Cakewalk Smartloops. An older Event Gina 20 soundcard and a new 1212m EMU 24Bit soundcard. A Mackie 1604 16 channel mixer. A new Orange Tiny Terror tube amp. Three Silverface Fender tube amps and a newer Pro Junior amp. Line6 Pod 1.4, J-station, Line6 Podxt. Two Shure 57 mics two MXL condenser mics. An Audio Buddy mic preamp. Guitars: Gibson Les Paul 1959 Reissue. An American Standard strat with Van-Zant and Harmonic Design pickups. A Warmoth swamp ash strat I put together with Kinman Pickups. A stock Yamaha 4 string Bass. A Line6 Variax 500 guitar. Ibanez with SSH pickup configuration, JB Humbucker. Effects: Two Jim Dunlap Wah pedals, TS5 and TS9 Tube screamers, Mxr 10 Band eq pedal, Danelecteo Echo, ART Powerplant rackmount distortion "Plexi" emulator. Roland GR33 Guitar Synthesizer.
Anything else?
I hope you enjoy some of the music I have to offer. I love blues and rock and some country. As I post some of my older stuff, I'm getting the urge to record some new ideas. I'm upgrading some of my equipment and need to go back to school a little bit to learn how to use it. I'd love hear any comments you might have. Drop me a line.
