We are an all out Rock and Roll Party. If you could wrap up the wildest party you've ever been at into one Bottle of whiskey, our band would be the soundtrack!!!
Band/artist history
In 1791 the federal government levied an excise tax on all distilled spirits. This tax would, in effect, strike hardest the people of the west, the common man, and people the government felt they could tax with impunity. The frontiersmen detested the tax, which was only payable in cash (somewhat a rarity in the frontier) mostly due to the fact that the revenues would support a government that wasn't representing them fairly. The westerners resisted the tax strongly, and often times violently. Making threats and attacking the excise officers in charge of collecting the taxes. In 1794, George Washington called together 12,950 militia men to easily suppress this "Whiskey Rebellion" which was the name given to the violent reaction of the westerners. This rebellion was one of the first events in which the public rose to show that they would not be oppressed by an unfair government and would use any means to allow themselves to be heard. In 2003, a second "Rebellion" has arrived. Whiskey Rebellion, a band formed around many of the same principles that the early frontiersmen adopted, is also an aggressive force to be reckoned with. As with any good whiskey, this band chooses not to "water down" their music, they instead approach it with a return to roots, and with the attitude of the people who made their voices heard in the original "Whiskey Rebellion." A five piece band with a combined total of more than 20 years in live experience, Whiskey Rebellion appears to have more than a few of their own scores to settle, only aggressive vocals are the war cries and commanding dynamics are the gunfire, set in the battlefield scenes provided by raw and unrelenting rhythms that leave no man unharmed. To see Whiskey Rebellion live is a whole new experience. They have become well known for their off the wall antics on stage that resemble nothing less than a party. Whiskey Rebellion walks on a stage and owns it and the crowd for their entire set. They are known for their full on stage presence and ability to keep everyone wondering whats coming next. Influenced by bands such as Black Label Society, Pantera, Lynyrd Skynrd, and others who have played straight, unrestrained hard rock. Whiskey Rebellion have established themselves as one of the premier original rock bands to hail from Wisconsin. Receiving regular rotation airplay on such stations as Z104 in Wausau, WMSE radio in Milwaukee, Lazer 103s local licks segment, and Rock 102.1s Milwaukeerocks segment, their fan base grows by the day...
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes we play live. Anywhere that will have us, and some places that wont. We love playing live, that is where this band really shines. They've all been great.
Your musical influences
All sorts of stuff from southern rock, to slayer to bluegrass to what ever sounds good at the time. Not rap though.
What equipment do you use?
Rock Gear. When it breaks we buy new. Can't endorse stuff unless I'm being endorsed.
Anything else?
If you wanna see one hell of a rock show, check us out. If you wanna see whinning and crying, follow the trend.
